Join Chuck Buck and Erica Remer, MD as they welcome one of the forerunners of clinical documentation integrity (CDI) during the next edition of Talk Ten Tuesdays: Pamela Bensen, an early adopter and the founding president of the American Society of Medical Advisors, which merged with the American College of Physician Advisors last year. During her 40-year career in emergency medicine, Dr. Bensen taught physicians to document severity of illness, risk management, CPT®, and EMTALA, adding CDI in 1997 and ICD-10 in 2010. During the broadcast, Dr. Bensen will share the remarkable success story of the St. Joseph’s Hospital System in Paterson, N.J.

Also scheduled to be featured on the broadcast are the following segments:

  • VBP Report: In our expanded reporting on value-based purchasing (VBP), nationally recognized healthcare authority Bonnie Cassidy will answer the question, “what’s the ‘triple aim?’”

  • DocTalk: In our new segment, “DocTalk,” Eddie Hu, MD will file a report on “loving groupers,” an appropriate topic for Valentine’s Day.

  • Mental Health Report: Also on Valentine’s Day, we will ask Talk Ten Tuesdays resident psychiatrist H. Steven Moffic the question, “is there a code for love?”

  • News Desk: Laurie Johnson, who anchors the Talk Ten Tuesdays news desk, will check in with the latest ICD-10 headline news.

Please welcome Dr. Erica Remer, who will now be co-hosting Talk Ten Tuesdays, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. ET.
