November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, and the Alzheimer's Association reports that 5.5 million people are currently living with the degenerative and fatal disease.

As Baby Boomers continue to age, the number of those suffering from Alzheimer’s is expected to soar, almost tripling in the next 30 years. Leading the discussion on Alzheimer's during the next edition of Talk Ten Tuesdays will be James P. Fee, MD, vice president of Enjoin. Dr. Fee is board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics and maintains a clinical practice in hospital medicine. He is a graduate of Tulane Health Sciences Center.

Other segments to be featured on the broadcast include:

  • News Desk: Lorraine M. Martínez with Inmediata, a healthcare billing and reimbursement company operating in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, will return to the broadcast with a live update from San Juan, Puerto Rico on how hospitals there are dealing with aftermath of Hurricane Maria, especially since a massive power outage struck the city recently.

  • Mental Health Report: Nationally renowned psychiatrist H. Steven Moffic will discuss Alzheimer's from a psychiatric perspective. Dr. Moffic, who is also the resident psychiatrist for Talk Ten Tuesdays, is an award-winning author who recently received the Administrative Psychiatry Award from the American Psychiatric Association and the American Association of Psychiatrist Administrators.

  • Coding Report: Laurie M. Johnson, MS, RHIA, FAHIMA, senior healthcare consultant for Revenue Cycle Solutions, will report on best practices for coding and documenting Alzheimer's. Almost two-thirds of those afflicted with Alzheimer's are women, according the Alzheimer's Association.

  • TalkBack: Talk Ten Tuesdays co-host Erica Remer, MD will report on the challenges associated with the American Hospital Association’s Fourth Quarter Coding Clinic.
