Coordination and Maintenance Meeting Starts Today

Coordination and Maintenance committee meeting remains virtual.

The Coordination and Maintenance Committee meeting is scheduled for today, Sept. 14, and continues through Sept. 15. As in the past, the two-day event will be held virtually.

Comments may be emailed to ICDProcedureCodeRequest@cms.hhs.gov for the procedure codes and nchsicd10cm@cdc.gov for the diagnosis codes.

The meeting will begin with the procedure topics under the guidance of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The topics on the tentative agenda include the following:

  • Administration of Fostamatinib;
  • Administration of broad consortium microbiota-based live biotherapeutic suspension;
  • Pressure-controlled intermittent coronary;
  • Sinus occlusion miracor;
  • Measurement of exhaled nitric oxide (FeNo);
  • Histotripsy of liver;
  • Replacement of meniscus with synthetic substitute;
  • Section X updates; and
  • Addenda and key updates.

For the first, third, and eighth items in this list, the applicant intends to request New Technology Add-On status for the 2022 fiscal year (FY). For administration of Fostamatinib, the applicant has requested an April 1, 2022 implementation.

After the procedure meeting, the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) will begin the diagnosis portion of the meeting. The 30 topics for this portion of the meeting include:

  • Angiodysplasia of small intestine;
  • Atrial septal defect;
  • Caught, jammed, or pinched-in or between objects;
  • Craniosynostosis;
  • Dementia;
  • Desmoid tumors;
  • Encounter for follow-up examination after completed treatment for malignant neoplasm;
  • Encounter for full-term operative vaginal delivery;
  • Endometriosis;
  • Extraocular muscle entrapment;
  • Hemolytic uremic syndrome;
  • Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia;
  • Hepatic encephalopathy;
  • Intracranial injury with unknown LOC;
  • Isthmoscele scarring;
  • Long-term (Current) drug therapy;
  • Malignant pericardial effusion;
  • Mild cognitive disorder due to known physiological conditions;
  • Mitral annulus calcification;
  • Muscle wasting and atrophy of the back;
  • Onset (spontaneous) of labor after 37 completed weeks of gestation but before 39 completed weeks gestation, with vaginal delivery;
  • Other acquired deformities of foot;
  • Perpetrator of assault, maltreatment, and neglect;
  • Personal history of congenital malformations;
  • Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome;
  • Problems related to upbringing;
  • PTEN Hamartoma Tumor Syndrome (PHTS);
  • Short stature due to endocrine disorder;
  • Transfusion-associated dyspnea (TAD); and
  • Addenda.
