Men’s Health the Focus of New Talk Ten Tuesdays Broadcast Series

By
In advance of the upcoming national observance of Father’s Day and in recognition of Men’s Health Week, which got underway yesterday and continues through Father’s Day, ICD10monitor is producing a two-part series on men’s health.

The series will air today on Talk Ten Tuesdays, the live Internet radio broadcast produced by ICD10monitor. The focus of today’s program will be physical health. Leading the examination will be Jon Elion, president and chief executive officer for Chartwise Health System, Inc., who will be joined by Joseph C. Nichols, MD, founder and principal of Health Data Consulting and Melissa Walton-Shirley, MD, a consulting cardiologist with the St. Thomas Heart Group in Nashville, Tenn.

“This series stands in stark contrast with the onslaught of newspaper and TV advertising promoting overstuffed recliners and large-screen televisions as Father’s Day gifts,” ICD10monitor Publisher and Talk-Ten-Tuesdays program host Chuck Buck said. “The fact is, we recently received sobering news from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): there’s been an increase in the overall death rate in 2015, including a marked difference among men. The increase seems to have come from drug overdoses and suicides.”

“In recognition of Men’s Health Week, celebrated each year as the week leading up to and including Father’s Day, our special two-part series will examine the clinical issues surrounding the physical and mental health of American men,” Buck added. “The following Tuesday we will delve into mental health issues facing men.”

In today’s broadcast, Sue Bowman, senior director of coding policy and compliance for the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), will also report on AHIMA’s response to the 2017 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) Proposed Rule. The comment period ends June 17.

Talk Ten Tuesdays National Correspondent Laurie Johnson, Panacea Healthcare Solutions’ director of health information management (HIM), will anchor the News Desk. And co-hosting Talk Ten Tuesdays will be Dennis R. Jones, the patient financial services (PFS) administrator at Nyack Hospital in Nyack, New York. Kim Charland is on assignment.

Register to listen.
