Essentia is an integrated health system serving patients in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Idaho with 15,000 employees, including more than 1,900 physicians and advanced practitioners.

Holly Louie, past president of the Healthcare Billing and Management Association, will co-host the broadcast, filling in for Erica Remer, MD, who is on assignment.

Other segments to be featured on the broadcast include:

  • DocTalk: Bill Rifkin, MD, managing editor and physician relations specialist for MCG Health, will return to present the second portion of his investigation into unexplained variations in the admission of patients.

  • Mental Health Report: Having viewed the totality of the solar eclipse last week from Carbondale, Ill., nationally renowned psychiatrist H. Steven Moffic, MD, will return to the broadcast to describe the experience as a metaphor for burnout, urging listeners not to allow it to eclipse your work as a healthcare professional.

  • News Desk: Denise Wilson, vice president at Denial Research Group and AppealMasters, will anchor the Talk Ten Tuesdays news desk.

  • CDI Report: Glenn Krauss, senior consultant at Federal Advisory Partners, will continue his reporting on clinical documentation integrity (CDI).

  • Revenue Cycle Report: Linda Pottinger, director of payer initiatives and innovative practice services for McKesson Specialty Health, will report on the impact of the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) on revenue cycles.
