What lessons can be applied at your facility when monitoring coder productivity? Is coder productivity at your facility keeping pace with top performers, according to survey results from the largest ICD-10 productivity research study conducted to date?

Join Talk Ten Tuesdays for a special broadcast that will feature two of the leading coordinators of the ICD-10 Productivity and Optimization Research Study, conducted by Ciox Health in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Health Information Management (part of the University’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences).

Patty Sheridan, senior vice president of HIM services for Ciox Health, will discuss the need for coding productivity standards and introduce key attributes of the research study. And Valerie Watzlaf, an associate professor in the Pitt Department of Health Information Management (HIM), will share key results and a formula that can be used to predict coding productivity and ideas for optimization and monitoring.

Other segments to be featured on the broadcast include:

  • News Desk: Dennis Jones, the patient financial services administrator at Nyack Hospital in Nyack, N. Y., will anchor the Talk Ten Tuesdays news desk, reporting on ICD-10 headlines.

  • DocTalk: Nick van Terheyden, MD, known as “Dr. Nick” and “The Incrementalist,” and also a national and international healthcare technology authority, will discuss incremental improvements in applying clinical insights at the point of care.

  • CDI Report: Cesar M. Limjoco, MD will report on how to avoid sepsis denials in your clinical documentation.

  • Mental Health Report: Nationally renowned psychiatrist H. Steven Moffic, MD, will return to the broadcast to report on anxiety – which perhaps has been exacerbated by certain current events, most recently the wounding of U.S. House of Representatives Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) and three others on Wednesday during a congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Va.

All this and more will be coming your way on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. ET.

Talk Ten Tuesdays. More than just talk.™
